Do this before we arrive
A few safe steps can limit damage and sometimes restore hot water on the spot.
- Smell gas? Leave the building, then call PG&E from outside. Don't switch anything on or off.
- Water actively leaking? Close the cold-water isolation valve at the unit, or the main shutoff.
- Write down the error code on the display before you reset anything — it tells us what failed.
- Try one power cycle: turn the unit off at the switch, wait 30 seconds, turn it back on.
- If the code returns immediately, stop resetting. The unit is protecting itself.
- Text us a photo of the unit's rating plate and the display when you call.
